INSTALLATION SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT DEMANDING … This software requires: Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher A PC-486 PC or higher with Microsoft Windows Installed on a hard drive. A Mouse or compatible "Point and Click" device. The term CLICK will be used extensively in this manual. Click refers to the use of a pointing device (Mouse or Trackball), and is the act of selecting and/or activating a function by clicking the appropriate Mouse button. For some, a Mouse might require a single click but others may require a "double click". On some computers, using the TAB key on the PC keyboard will move the cursor. Clicking the Up and Down arrows on the Windows Scroll may also work. Please consult your Microsoft Windows manual for full information about using click and/or double click for your computer, to select and run files and functions. Before you begin You should have a basic familiarity with your computer and have an elementary knowledge of MS-WINDOWS. You begin by downloading the installation file from the johnbenson.com web site. The installation file will have an eight-digit file prefix naming the date of issue, followed with a file name suffix of .exe meaning an “execute” file, for example 03_15_08.exe for an installation file created March 15, 2008. The installation is easy for almost everyone. To download the software, do to the Download Center in the web site, and click on the name of the file (the link) that says “Click HERE to download.” Your Internet Browser (Firefox or Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer, etc.) will then ask you for a name to call the file on your computer. You can use the same (default) name that you see when you click on the file (e.g. 03_15_08.exe) or you can give it a generic name such as install.exe or benson.exe. After you name the file or accept the default filename from your browser software, the Browser will begin to download the file to your personal computer's hard drive. Notice and remember the name of the file that you downloaded. You need to know the name of the file in case you need to find it later. Also notice the letter of the hard drive (usually c:) and the name of the directory (folder) on your hard drive where the downloaded file will be saved.
